Bruce, YouTube and Second Life
Picked this up on my radar. Bruce Cockburn video on YouTube. Interesting as you don’t see much of Bruce outsideCanada/US. At last a personal useful thing I’ve found on YouTube. Now what I find interesting about the clip itself is it has an incredibly Second Life feel about it. Virtual buildings textured with the lyricsContinueContinue reading “Bruce, YouTube and Second Life”
Avoiding Rocket Science – slide 1
Funny things happen when you go back to work after being on leave for a week. I returned this morning to a colleague presenting me with a mystery. Turns out one of the public computers was acting up….nothing new, they always get a bashing. However this time things typed by staff on a computer, aboutContinueContinue reading “Avoiding Rocket Science – slide 1”
Colour returns
Just caught up this morning with the recent Apple announcements about the new iPod lines etc. The release of the iPod nano in colours again twigged something I’d written in this blog back in April titled Classic colour Apple’s done well to foster this ‘emotional connection’ via music with the iPod. I’m wondering perhaps weContinueContinue reading “Colour returns”
Daylight savings a ‘miniY2K’ – New York Times
The New York Times has comment on the Daylight saving headache. Calling it a ‘mini Y2K’ problem. No REAL solutions that would help our balls up with the recent Commenwealth Games fiasco though.
Classic colour
Where’s all the colour gone Apple? Came across this interesting article in the Metroplolis Magazine (a design mag) focused on the use of colour in Apples computers. I had one of the first Macs they talk about so it was a nostalgia trip for me (and a nice one now I’m trapped in WindowsLand dueContinueContinue reading “Classic colour”

Enableblogs – beginnings
Things happen so fast in this Web2.0 world it sometimes makes my head spin. If you’d looked closely at my Flicker photos you would have seen some shots of a conference between James Farmer (edublogs), Mike Seyfang (Learndog) and myself (Lifekludger) resulting in James graciously offering to host the enableblogs site – a concept whichContinueContinue reading “Enableblogs – beginnings”
Saving Doug’s hair – What’s Web2.0 about?
Over at Doug Jacquier’s blog, Doug is “doodling and sctratching his head” trying to answer some questions posed to him from Jody Mahoney at Compumentor about Web2.0. This is what I think – he asked for it! I see two main things happening that what is termed Web2.0 is shaping and in turn, is shapingContinueContinue reading “Saving Doug’s hair – What’s Web2.0 about?”
Restart it!
I normally don’t put work stuff in here, maybe I need YAB (yet another blog) Anyway, this is what happens when you don’t restart your Windows Webserver after applying an update patch!
Audio of Linda Stone’s Supernova Address

It’s the audio containing the address Linda Stone gave at the Supernova 2005 Conference – the notes of which I referred to in my previous blog post “You can’t stop the signal” A few key points missed in notes I want to highlight: Multi-taskingContinueContinue reading “Audio of Linda Stone’s Supernova Address”

SMS your message to the world
I just had to post this as something about it really appeals to me. The idea that anyone can send a SMS message that gets displayed on a huge electronic billboard just grabs me somewhere I can’t explain. If I ever figure out why I like this I’ll let you know.
200 gig nono
Was checking out what Andy has been up to over at Sticky Notes. His latest find was reference to Apple and the 200gb iPod Nano (yes, two hundred gigs!). A ‘how-to’ slight mod on Apples iPod nano. After looking at the results, I’d have to rename it the iPod NoNo. This took me over toContinueContinue reading “200 gig nono”
