Critical Success Factors
From Lifekludger
What 'success' will look like:
- Livers will be inspired by LifeKludger to list their ideas for kludges here on the wiki. They will feel that at last they are not alone, LifeKludger connects people.
- Makers will be inspired to start hacking together kludges and will leave at least some rough notes behind.
- Givers will help make connections between Livers and Makers, sometimes by raising the funds required to build and ship a kludge, sometimes by lobbying Suppliers to make their products available and more hackable.
- At the end of the day what matters most is that suppliers sell stuff that is more hackable, networks of makers hack kludges for livers with the help of givers. I.E. the world becomes a better place. However, it would be nice if this wiki became something like craigslist - kind of the go-to place for this type of thing.
Connections - while craigslist connects pairs (buyer/seller, etc) we seek to form networks of networks - e.g. Networks of livers connecting with networks of makers... Similar but subtle in difference.
Conversations - sharing stories to change culture. Makes needs known, defines context, educates makers, informs design. Technology evolves to serve culture.
- We will develop a CREED or CONSTITUTION that defines the 'vibe'. It will clearly articulate what LifeKludger is / is not on about. (Better than these lines below:)
Care: We build portable ramps to help navigate steps
Our core business and focus.
- Dave cant wait 20 years for apple to make proper input devices, he would rather kludge a trackball now
Cure: The world stops building steps. Every device is made open and accessible.
- While this will hopefully be a spin off after years of lifekludger, it is not our focus. We focus on Care.
Bits - YES we focus on the world of bit.
Atoms - NO we don't need to handle/collect a bunch of stuff made out of atoms. We want all atoms to be in the hands of livers a.s.a.p.
