Media Centre based AAC

May 14th, 2007 | by dnw |

Live blogging from the Connecting Up 2007 conference.

Sat in on James Kavanagh from Microsoft giving a presentation on accessibility in Vista.

The intereting part was a project MS are doing with the NSW Govt. The project is Alternative Communication, Symbol based Software app built on Windows Media Centre.

Was shown an early version only 3 weeks into the build. First time demonstrated publicly.

The program looked to work well, especially given the early stage development.

I’m no expert in AAC but to my mind it holds a lot of potential. Building on WMC seemed a novel approach.
