Horizontal Reading
October 22nd, 2005 | by dnw |Following on from a previous post titled horizontal computing on my previous blog, here’s a spin on a reading in bed device.
While this article from popgadget talks about the device called the Rainbow book stand from the perspective of being a help for aching muscles from copious reading in bed – it makes me think of possibilities.
Unfortunately it also makes me think of how there’s a lack of any real recognition that these kinds of devices can be of substantial functional benefit to some people.
And the ‘klunkiness’ of devices like this also points to a real lack of genuine thoughtfulness that is needed in this area of access to everyday tasks by people who may not be ‘vertical’ for alot of their waking hours.
